  1. Regret For Wasting Ramadan so far!!!Two thirds of Ramadan have passed and only one-third - the last blessed 10 days remains.Although we may all differ regarding the two thirds that have passed, there should be only one type of person in the remaining third: the person who is regretful of his negligence and conscious of his shortcomings.Regardless of one's eagerness to do good deeds, each one of us is guilty of negligence to a certain extent, and thus, we should be absolutely determined to make up for the time we have wasted and strive much harder from this moment onwards.--- So even though the first two thirds of Ramadan may have been wasted, we must not despair. Rather we should admit that we have been neglectful, wake ourselves up and internalise in our minds - that the final stretch of Ramadan will be not only better, but the best we have ever performed in any previous Ramadan - by the permission of Amighty Allah. We must act now!So we must now strive and work as hard as possible for we do not know if this will be our last Ramadan or not!Regardless of how sinful we are or whether we pray or even fast what matters is that we make a firm intention from this moment onwards that we will change for the better and repent for our past and present sins. These last 10 days and nights of this blessed month is the best opportunity for us to change our lives for the better in getting closer to Allah, connecting with the Qur'an and re-focusing our goals and objectives to that of preperation for the Hereafter! So let us not wait for tomorrow but act now in opening our hearts to Allah and crying and begging of him to forgive us and guide us to the straight path. We must strive from now on to better ourselves and to emulate the beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). So let us make firm intention right now that we will make every effort and do everything we can from now onwards to get closer to Allah and to spend every aspect of our lives in pleasing him and refraining from anything that may anger or displease him. For if we waste this valuable opportunity and die in this state then surely Allah will ask us that did we not get any opportunities to change? Did no one come to remind us? Did we not get chance after chance? Then how many more chances do we need until death takes us? Do we really know at which moment our death will be? Then surely the wise person acts immediately and does not delay!Utter regretTherefore we cannot afford to miss out on this most valuable opportunity as this may be our last Ramadan and our only opportunity to worship on Laylatul Qadr. If we lose this opportunity then surely we will be the biggest losers and in utter regret FOREVER!!! Source

  3. Sisters recite the Dua of Laylatul Qadr abundantly during the last 10 nights: اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي Allahumma innaka ‘affuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni’ ‘O Allah You are The One Who forgives greatly, and loves to forgive, so forgive me. [at Tirmidhi]This Dua is a true blessing to our Ummah which was given to us by Allah the majestic to the Prophet [Sallallahu laihi Wasallam] to the most beloved person to him: Aisha [RA]. So that makes the Dua extra special. Normally when we ask for forgiveness then Allah may forgive us but may still mention the sin to us on the Day of Judgement. But in this Dua we are asking Allah to completely wipe away our sins so that they are totally erased. So recite this Dua frequently during this blessed night to get your sins totally wiped out and come out as sinless as a newborn baby. Subhanallah! Hamza Asadullah
  4. Thank Allah abundantly even during periodsAlmighty Allah does not prevent a woman asking of him abundantly during her menses. He gives all of His sinful slaves a chance to earn multiple rewards, have their sins forgiven and their Dua's accepted. It is only He Who gave you a chance to do this. It is only He Who blessed you with the biggest blessing that could ever be. And that is the blessing of Islam. It is He Who made you Muslim, enabled you to live to witness Ramadan and Who give you the opportunity to worship Him. And even having your period is a reason for you to give thanks to Him.So give thanks to Him from the bottom of your heart, and show your gratitude to the one Who gave you all that you possess, for this season of goodness and blessing that He has bestowed upon you, and for all the bounties and immense blessings for which He has singled you out. Hamza Asadullah
  5. I'tikaf for womenWomen can also do I'tikaf in the Masjid if the facilities are available to them as long as they have been given permission by their husbands. There is a difference of opinion whether or not a women can do I'tikaf at home. The Hanbalis, some Shafi's & some Malikis say that a woman can only sit I'tikaf at the Masjid, whereas the Hanafi's, some Shafi's & some Malikis say it is permissable for a women to do I'tikaf at a designated place in her home because if her prayer is prefferred at home then surely her I'tikaf should also be preferred at home. They state that a woman sitting I'tikaf at home can perform her domestic duties in her designated room for I'tikaf for eg. cooking, ironing etc. But it is best if she takes care of all her responsiblities si that she can devote as much time as possible to worship. She may not leave her desginated room unless it is necessery. The same rules apply to women sitting I'tikaf as they do for men. Even a women on her menses is permitted to sit I'tikaf at her designated place at home. She can do dhikr, dua, listening to Qur'an recitation & read, learn & ponder over the words & meanings of the Qur'an. Hamza Asadullah
  6. Excellent piece of advice by Mufti Ebrahim Desai DB Question Assalamualaikum Mufti Saheb, I am really sick spiritually it feels like my heart is sealed. I don’t get inspired by any deeni talks or forms of ibaadat. I try to stay away from sinning. I don’t have any feelings. A long time ago I did do a really bad deed. I need Allah’s mercy to ask Allah for forgiveness from my heart but my heart feels sealed up. Please make dua for me and please advise me on what to do mufti Sahib. Answer A mother prohibits her child from going to play outside. The child slips away in the yard and begin enjoying himself playing in the sand and mud. After a while he comes back to his mother with his clothes and body covered up in mud. What will be the mother’s response? Will she leave like that saying I prohibited you from going outside but you did not listen? Or will she pick up the child, bath the child, put cream and powder for the child and dress him in clean clothes and then hug and kiss him? Allāh Ta`ālā prohibited us from soiling ourselves in the filth of sin. Due to our negligence we did not take precaution. If we return to Allāh will He ever reject us from His infinite door of mercy and forgiveness? Allāh is waiting for His sinful servants like us to return to Him. Every night Allāh spreads His hand out so that the sinner of the day may repent and every day Allāh spreads His hands out so that the sinner of the night might turn to Him and repent. _{قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ (53)} [الزمر: 53] Say (on My behalf), ―O servants of Mine who have acted recklessly against their own selves, do not despair of Allah‘s mercy. Surely, Allah will forgive all sins. Surely, He is the One who is the Most-Forgiving, the Very-Merciful. [39:53] When a child is learning to walk or ride a bicycle many times he falls down. However, he does not remain on the floor. He immediately stands up and continues. If we commit a sin a thousand times, we should stand up and repent a thousand and one times. Be sure that Allāh will most definitely forgive you. Be confident in the Most wonderful, Merciful, Loving, Kind and Compassionate creator you have. He loves you and waiting for you to come back to Him. *Dear brother, you might have committed something in the past which you were not supposed to commit, but remember that Allāh is waiting for you. Never be despondent of His mercy. Turn to Him, repent for the past and make a resolution to do your best for the future. Indeed you should be regretful and cry for the past but never let yourself be bogged down on the past.* Neither concern yourself too much of the future. Focus on the present, for this will be the past of tomorrow and pave the way for the future. Lamenting too much on the past will prevent you from progressing. Dear brother, allow me to suggest you to continue doing whatever good you are doing even though who do not feel any enjoyment or you feel as your heart is blocked. The object is the obedience of Allāh and not any feelings. Be punctual on your five daily ṣalāh in the masjid with congregation. Set a time daily to recite the noble Qurān. Even if it just a few minutes. However, be sure to be punctual on your recitation. Keep good company. Try to attend the daily ta’līm and other activities taking place in the masjid. Allocate a time for du`ā. Try to join the tablīghi jamā`ah and join the gathering of some friend of Allah. One candle is lit by joining it to another candle which is already lit. Ignite your heart by joining it to a heart which is already ignited with the love and recognition of Allāḥ. And Allah knows best. Mufti Ebrahim Desai

  8. Did a jewish lady used to throw trash at the Prophet’s house? Status : NO SOURCE A Story that is Commonly Heard Today It goes that a Jewish woman in Mecca who would throw garbage on the doorstep of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in defiance of his message, and one day she fell sick and could not throw the garbage, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) visited her. Then it is said that she was so amazed at his character that she realized his prophethood and accepted Islam. I have not found a basis for this specific incident in the books of hadeeth or reliable works of prophetic biography, and it seems as though this story has become popular on the tongues of people without any source to support it, and Allah knows best. However, there is no need to repeat this story because its moral lesson recurs time and time again throughout the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him). There are so many true accounts of abuses which were followed by displays of the Prophet’s clemency and noble character (peace be upon him) and indeed, people’s hearts would change and they would come to faith. The important thing is that we read those accounts in the works of Seerah, we should appreciate them, and then strive to emulate that forbearance, clemency and nobility in our own lives. 10. Hadith about Moosa AS on fasting Status: FABRICATED Question: Assalamu alaykum, The following narration is doing its rounds on social media. Please verify if it is authentic: Once Moosa (AS) asked Allah Ta’ala: O Allah! You have granted me the honor and privilege of talking to you directly, Have you given this privilege to any other person? Allah Ta’ala replied, O!! Moosa during the last period I am going to send an ummat, who will be the Ummat of Mohammed (SAW) with dry lips, parched tongues, emaciated body with eyes sunken deep into their sockets, with livers dry and stomachs suffering the pangs of hunger- will call out to me (in dua) they will be much closer to me than you O Moosa! while you speak to me there are 70000 veils between you and me but at the time of iftaar there will not be a single veil between me and the fasting Ummati of Mohammed (SAW) O!! Moosa I have taken upon myself the responsibility that at the time of iftaar I will never refuse the dua of a fasting person! Sub’hanallah!! Humble Request: Please spread this Hadith as much as possible to your dear ones. Answered by Mufti Ismail Moosa Wassalam, This narration does not come in any of the books of Ahadith. Rather, it is narrated in Nuzhah al-Majalis (pg 182). It also appears in the Tafseer Rooh al-Bayan (8/112). In both these books there is no Sanad (chain of transmission). Furthermore, it is the ‘Aqeeda of Ahl as-Sunnah that the Prophets are the closest to Allah. No Ummati can be equal to a Prophet. And Moosa (alayhi as Salam) is from Ulul ‘Azm (5 greatest prophets). So there is Nakara (discrepancy) in the Matan (text) which clearly shows it is a fabrication. Thus, such messages should not be spread. Fatwaa.com ******* بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم Answer We have been unable to locate this narration or its chain in any reliable ḥadīth collection. A similar narration has been mentioned by Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ṣafūrī (d. 894/1488-9) in Nuzhat al-Majālis and ʿAllāmah Ismāʿīl Ḥaqqī (d. 1127/1715 or 1137/1725) in Rūḥ al-Bayān (8:150). Both books contain many unsubstantiated narrations and therefore cannot be relied upon in matters of authentication. Moreover, both books do not mention the primary source or the chain of this story. The narration also contradicts our belief that Prophets are superior to all other human beings and that Prophet Musā (peace be upon him) is from among the senior Prophets regarding whom Allah Almighty mentions in the Qurʾān (19:52), “And we called him from the right side of Mount Sinai and we brought him close to confer with him.” A narration or story that contradicts clear Islamic teachings is from among the signs of fabrication. One should therefore exercise caution and avoid circulating such narrations. This notwithstanding the fact that there are authentic narrations which suggest that the supplication of a fasting person is accepted. Thus, a fasting person should supplicate to Allah in abundance. Allah knows best Yusuf Shabbir 11 Dhū al-Qaʿdah 1438 / 3 August 2017 Approved by: Mufti Shabbir Ahmad and Mufti Muhammad Tahir Islamicportal
