  1. Aoudhubillahi minahs shaitan nirrajeem Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Two Characteristics of Nafs or Ego Why do the man like prohibited acts? It can be observed that the man normally develops yearning towards the forbidden acts. There is an online game because of which many youth are committing suicide. Effective measures are being taken to stop this game but people watch with more vigor. The zeal towards the forbidden acts is in proportion to the strength to prevent these acts. Adam (AS) was prohibited from eating the fruit of a certain tree. There were many trees that he (AS) could eat from but he chose to eat from the forbidden tree. When a man is prevented from an act, he becomes greedier of that act. Careful observation show two reasons behind this human behavior: 1) The nafs or ego does not tolerate imprisonment. The nafs is already imprisoned by the physical body and when it is further constrained spiritually, it becomes furious. Voluntarily a man will stay in a house for a month but the moment he was ordered to not come out of the house, he would find it difficult to oblige even for a day as his nafs would become enraged feeling imprisoned and will pressurize him to move out of the house. 2) It is not the tendency of the nafs to obey others and it finds submission and obedience very difficult. Physically it can do the most strenuous acts but mentally it finds it very difficult to submit to any simple command. This is why the biggest religion in this world is worshiping nafs whereby people obey the nafs. In fact the people of this world can be broadly divided into two groups: One group who live by the command of the Lord and the other group who live by the command of their nafs. It is because of these two characteristics of the nafs, the man finds pleasure in forbidden acts but not in permitted acts. Growing beard is very easy and it does not utilize man’s time, energy or money and it does not even hurt his skin but he finds it difficult to grow whereas he will take much effort and spend time, money and go through the pain to cut off the beard which is forbidden. Shariah has freed man from following unnecessary customs in getting married making it easy for him but he finds it difficult to oblige. On the other hand, the man will spend time, energy and waste his hard earned money which he laboriously saved for years in following the customs to please the people suiting the desires of his nafs. Do people really get pleased? Nay! He only earns up jealous people who will harm him. He finds it easy to do the most strenuous acts which will make one wonder because it pleases nafs but the simple easy acts become difficult for him as it goes against his nafs. This is the tendency of the nafs. Go Against the Nafs and Enjoy the Jannah Right in this World Irrespective of the difficulty endured by the nafs, the struggle we put to go against the nafs to please Allah SWT is what will make us attain Jannah. When we struggle against our nafs, Allah SWT will ease our path. If we go after the desires of nafs, there is hell behind its veil and if we abide by Allah’s SWT commands, definitely it is difficult for the nafs but there is Jannah behind its veil. I am not just talking about the Jannah awaiting in the akhirah but we will be able to taste the Jannah right in this world after a period of time if we go against our nafs. When we apply medicine to the wound, initially there will be stinging pain but later we will enjoy the health. Similarly, tolerate the displeasure of nafs in the beginning and later you will enjoy the Jannah of this world. If you do not apply medicine for the wound fearing the momentary pain, the wound will start rotting from inside leading to intolerable pain. Know that if you tolerate the difficulty and displeasures of nafs for Allah SWT, it will bring in the taste of Jannah like how the medicine brings health. Sins will make the Life Hell If you want to see the life of hell, look at the lives of sinners. Depending on the depth of the sin committed, deep is the hell life of the sinner. There are countries which are called paradise of this world but their inhabitants are committing suicide. Why do they commit suicide? Their anxiety, worries and difficulties are so severe like those of inmates of hell who will cry, “Alas! We wish we are dead and become dust and extinct”. Just like these inmates of hell, the sinners of this world become exasperated desiring for death and commit suicide. Can you imagine the level of desolateness, anxiety, insecurity and worries they are experiencing in their lives? In spite of having beautiful weather, house and comforts, why do they commit suicide? Depending on the severity of sins in one’s life, he will feel the heat of the hell in his life. The heat will be less when sin is small and will be more if the sin is big but for certain sins make the life that of the hell. This is as clear as a day brought out by the sun. One cannot be deceived by huge houses, factories or cars as for sure the sins committed by a person would make his life hell. Forbear the Stinging Pain of the Nafs The Quran commands one to save himself, his women and children from the fire. This command was descended on the most intellectual people that ever came on the earth, i.e. the companions of the Prophet SAW. They were commanded to save themselves from the fire of the sins. This fire is not good for your women or children and you cannot overlook their sins. Children are unaware and ignorant of the consequences of sins meted out by their environment but they are heading towards the fire. Believing in Allah SWT and following His SWT commands will definitely be difficult for the nafs but there is health behind this stinging pain and the taste of worldly Jannah behind this difficulty. Those people who are blessed with tahajjud salah or solitude worship in the late nights and in the mornings find them more pleasurable than the tastiest food. The coolness, the tranquility and the pleasure that one feels from these ibaadat (worship) are incomparable. When Hazrat ibn Taymiyyah (RA) was imprisoned and taken towards the prison, he exclaimed, “How wonderful it would be to spend my time in prison in solitude! Now I will enjoy my time of Jannah here.” When the prison guard wondered at his words, he said, “My Jannah is in my heart and it is with me wherever I go.” Who can snatch away Jannah from the hearts granted by Allah SWT? When Allah SWT bestows one deen and purity outwardly and inwardly, he has attained the Jannah of this world. Allah SWT says that such people will have tranquility in their hearts and tranquility is experienced in Jannah too. In the Jannah of this world, the man remains peaceful all the time and in every single state. This is pleasure. So have patience over the difficulty of the nafs when obeying Allah SWT for this pain is only temporary like applying medicine on the wound which will be followed by the enjoyment of eemaan (faith). The heart might desire to backbite and see forbidden things but stop the tongue from maligning others honor through backbiting and stop the eyes from seeing forbidden things. Definitely the nafs would find it tormenting but soon you will feel the coolness. How to control the Nafs? Deal with the nafs just like how a smart patient would deal with the medicine. He aims for good health and eats the bitter medicine and if it is too bitter, he still convinces himself to consume it by adding little sweetness to it or eats something sweet immediately after the medicine so his body accepts it. Do not obey the nafs but deal with it like a smart patient. It also happens that the nafs itself would not like eating certain delicious food because it knows well that it will prevent him from enjoying all other delicious foods. So teach the nafs about the severe loss it would incur if it commits a sin and losing the blessings it is enjoying. This is how a smart believer will hold his nafs. He will fully have the control of the bridle and will not lose the rope from his hand. Sometimes he loosens the rope but will have control over it. As long as the nafs is on the straight path, he will be lenient with it and when it tries to deviate from the path, he tries to bring back with a soft approach and if it doesn’t respond well, he will bring back sternly. He will deal with the nafs like how he would deal with an ignorant wife. When she shows her weakness intellectually, he entertains her by being very considerate. When a wife becomes disobedient, the husband first advices her gently and if the advice fails, he keeps her away from him on the bed and if she still persists in her behavior, he becomes little stern on her. There is no whip greater than firm determination to control the nafs. Be determined that you will not disobey Allah SWT and there is no better whip than determination for the nafs. Let Allah SWT grant His divine help to lead a life pleasing to Him SWT. Ameen -Sheikh Maulana Abdus Sattar (DB): Morning Tarbiati Majlis-29th September 2017.
  2. Aodhubillahi minash shaitaan nirrajeem Bismillahirrahmanirraheem The Hindrance of Ikhlaas: Love for Fame and Wealth The biggest amal (deed) of a man is that of ikhlaas (sincerity-for sake of Allah SWT alone). With ikhlaas, a small deed performed becomes a means of amassing great reward. When a big amal is done ostentatiously, it doesn’t carry any weight or reward. Hazrat Abdullah bin Mubarak (RA) said, “Many small deeds yearn great rewards because of ikhlas and many big aamaal become small due to improper intention”. A man become mukhlis (a sincere person) only when he loses any value for love of fame and wealth. It is difficult to achieve ikhlas with the love of world. Fame and money are two big branches of the love of world. When a man loses worth for these two aspects in his heart, he becomes a mukhlis. He would neither be a yearner of fame nor of wealth. He would be only yearning for Allah’s pleasure. Even the small amal of a person who is fortuned with ikhlaas does not remain small. The ikhlaas adds weight to the amal making it heavier than the mountains. But there is a huge sacrifice behind this ikhlaas which is to lose yearning for fame and wealth which is not a small feat. It is not a small task to get rid of love for fame and wealth from one’s heart. Fame and Wealth are Highly Unsteady The acceptance of amal is to do with ikhlaas. When there is ikhlaas in an amal, it becomes eligible to be accepted. Many waste the rewards for their amals because of improper intention. Great deeds are carried out, great services are done but due to negligence of intention and ikhlaas, the hard work goes wasted. People become exhausted by performing aamaal but they gain nothing due to negligence. Before doing a deed, you can at least ask your heart, “Why you are doing this?” After completion of that deed, beg and plead to Allah SWT to accept it. This will ensure to get it accepted inshaaAllah. Please Allah SWT. The reality of fame and wealth is that they are very unstable. The yearner of fame is always reliant on others. If others praise him, he considers himself worthy and if others consider him disgraces, he becomes humiliated. The wealth has a similar trait, it won’t stay with anyone permanently. In fact, the aamaal based on ikhlaas is more steady and permanent as it keeps progressing with reward and acceptance both from Allah’s side and the side of creations. The Weight of Ikhlaas As many people lose the rewards due to negligence of intention, they should be reminded of ikhlaas very often. The inducement of Ikhlaas should continue. Very big hospitals are built, masaajid are built, and religious institutes are built but if the intention behind all this is fame, then what is the use? All these acts are great but as the one doesn’t know what ikhlaas is, how to make the proper intention and what the base and soul of aamaal is, he just wastes the rewards. The correctness of intention is such a great wealth by which a permissible act becomes an act of worship. Ikhlaas is to do an act for Allah SWT. A permissible act done for Allah SWT becomes a worship. A simple act of ibaadat done with ikhlaas becomes mountain-like and heavier than mountains. Hajj is such a great worship but when done with improper intention one gets nothing but exhaustion. So is fasting if done for ostentation, one gets nothing but hunger and thirst. Thus great aamaal go wasted because of incorrect intention. Today we have aamal but no khuloos (sincerity, purity). Ikhlaas Purifies the Heart from Spiritual Diseases Unless the fame and wealth, the two big branches of love of world fall before your eyes, you cannot get ikhlaas. It is very difficult to attain ikhlaas without losing the above two aspects. When the fame or wealth stands before the aamaal, it dissipates all the rewards. One worked hard and assiduously but wasted the aamaal. What a great loss! Ikhlaas becomes a means for purity of heart from rancor, malice and other spiritual diseases and becomes a source of acceptance of aaamaal. When a man is mukhlis free from love for fame and wealth, he won’t have rancor, jealousy and malice for anyone in his heart as all these diseases or thorns grow on the tree of worldly love. When there is no worth for the world in his heart, how will he get rancor or malice? All these thorns come only on the tree of worldly love. When a man gets ikhlaas and he wants to please Allah SWT alone, his heart will remain pure from all the above diseases. Ilkhaas becomes a means for destroying sins. Hazrat Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) said, “When a man constantly do aamaal with ikhlaas, Allah SWT eliminates his major sins”. SubhanAllah! Such is the strength in ikhlaas. Ikhlaas Eases Difficulties There is a hadith that says a prostitute was forgiven for feeding water to a thirsty dog. This act was based only on ikhlaas. No one is watching her except Allah SWT and she is giving water to the thirsty dog to please Allah SWT. She was a prostitute and Allah SWT forgave all her major sins because of ikhlaas. Similarly removal of harmful things from the pathways with ikhlaas becomes a means for forgiveness of sins. We do so many permissible acts to which we are all accustomed such as there is none among us who do not eat or go to toilet or marry or wear dress or apply perfume etc. As we do not make correct intention, these acts do not become worship. By the blessings of proper intention and ikhlaas, these acts could have become worship. Difficulties eases through ikhlaas. It comes in a hadith that three people entrapped in a cave by a huge rock were brought out from the mouth of death by Allah SWT when they sought His SWT help through their deeds which they did with ikhlaas. One pleaded to Allah SWT that he served his parents only to please Him SWT, another said that he invested a small amount he owed a man in business and when he came back to get his due, he gave him back the wealth, cattle and slaves he gained through that business only for Allah’s sake and the third claimed that he had the complete control and strength to commit a sin but he gave it up when he was reminded of Allah SWT. All the three men presented these aamaal before Allah SWT and He SWT moved away the rock enclosing the cave where no air or light entered. There was none who helped them but solely by Allah SWT with His SWT power. Ikhlaas has a great strength. We keep saying we have obstructions in our lives and nothing but only sins are those obstructions that hinder our path. Difficulties are eased by the blessing of ikhlaas. Ikhlaas Amasses Rewards Due to ikhlaas, we can get reward for an act even if we lack the ability to do it. One can even attain the rank of a martyr or a mujaahid by ikhlaas while dying on the bed. There is a narration in sahih Bukhari by Anan bin Malik (RA). Some people stayed behind in Madinah while going for a battle due to some constraints but they got the same reward as those who fought because of their ikhlaas. Their intention was correct, their yearning was true, their aim was firm but they couldn’t go due to constraints and so Allah SWT granted them also the reward. Ikhlaas earns one reward. When an alim or faqih does a mistake but has correct intention, then Allah SWT rewards him even for his mistake. SubhanAllah! This is the wealth of ikhlaas. A man is protected from huge trials because of acts with ikhlaas. Allah SWT saved Prophet Yusuf (AS) from a great trial when it fell on him because he was a mukhlis. Ikhlaas makes a small act big, turns the permissible acts into worship, eases the difficulties and protects one from trials and amasses the reward. There are many aayats and hadith related to ikhlaas. Our beloved Prophet SAW said when a man prostrates with ikhlaas and gets up, his rank his raised to one degree and his one sin is forgiven. With one prostration with ikhlaas, Allah SWT is raising his rank, forgiving his sin and increasing his reward. Our Prophet SAW said when a man wakes up during the night and stands up in seclusion for prayer with eemaan and good expectation from Allah SWT, He SWT forgives all his sins. He is invisible to humans in the night, he woke up only to please Allah SWT, to earn reward from Him SWT and all his sins are forgiven. If a man goes behind the funeral of a Muslim who is neither related to him by blood or by neighborhood nor has any commitment with attending his funeral but has the only intention to please Allah SWT and he prays janazah salah, stays until the burial, he will then return with two qirat of ajr (reward). The one who returns before burial will earn 1 qirat of ajr and the one who returns after burial will earn two qirat of ajr. The weightage of one qirat is greater than that of mount Uhud as comes in a hadith. Ikhlaas makes the amal heavy. A person might do the same act but if he aims something else, he wastes his amal. O the honorable ones! Ikhlaas is the life and soul of every amal. Ikhlaas is to do only for Allah’s sake and ikhlaas will enter the heart when the yearning for fame and wealth ends. Until a man is greedy of wealth and desirous of fame, it is very difficult to get ikhlaas. These attributes eat up a man’s amal. Before every amal, make the intention to please only Allah SWT and when you complete the amal, make duaa to Allah SWT to accept it. Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS) were building Kaaba, great act as they will get reward of millions of people doing tawaf around Kaaba and after completion, they were found pleading and begging before Allah SWT to accept their act as He SWT is all hearing Who is hearing their duas and seeing their intention. The soul of every amal is ikhlaas. Sometimes the amal is really big such as building masjid, madrassah, hospital, feeding hundred thousands of people but due to incorrect intention, all goes wasted. First and foremost, shaitan doesn’t allow one to do amal, and if one stands up to do an amal, he doesn’t allow him to do with proper intention. And even if one does with correct intention, before reaching the grave, he makes it go wasted by mixing it with riyaa (ostentation). Let Allah SWT grant lkhlaas in our every single amal. 3. Aoudhubillahi minash shaitaan nirrajeem Bismillahirrahmanirraheem The man of worldliness, is always in prison and difficulty. There is a worldly man and a religious man. The religious man always prioritizes religion irrespective of having the world or losing it. The worldly man prefers the world irrespective of having or losing the deen and he won’t feel the dust or breeze of peace. Only Allah’s slaves are fortunate of obtaining peace and pleasure. There is a skill which is the secret of their freedom. The source of sorrow is unexpected happenings and this is the reality of sorrow or distress. The righteous slaves of Allah SWT cut off this very root of placing expectations in worldly things. Why should then there be sorrow? Hazrat Gangohi (RA) said, “Do not have any expectations from anyone”. He then asked the servants, “Tell me what you think of me?” They replied, “You are our guardian, benefactor and we cannot thank you enough for your favors”. Hazrat said, “I am telling from my heart, do not place any expectation even in me but only in Allah SWT”. If tawheed is residing in every single vein of a man like this, how will he have any expectation from anyone? There is judiciousness of Allah SWT in whatever He SWT destines for you. The similitude of this is like a mother who applies medicinal drops to the painful eyes of the child. The child screams out of pain and is angry with the mother but when he gets the understanding, he prays for his mother. Similarly whatever pain and difficulty Allah SWT is giving you, it is in your favor and for your benefit in both the worlds. Without trials in this world, we won’t turn towards Him SWT. The man remembers his Lord when he is in difficulty. Without difficulty, we won’t be equipped for the akhirah. If you get death in this state, you will be purified by the hell fire rather than by the trials of this world. It is better we get purified right in this world. I will give you the glad tidings that the punishment of hell is for the purification of Muslims and not to punish. You know when your house lamp gets greased, it is cleansed by burning it. You are Allah’s lamp but greasy and your dirt will be purified by the hell fire. Cleansing of our dirt right in this world will obviate our purification in the akhirah. Allah SWT purifies Muslims by sending them the trials and difficulties. Now tell me, isn’t this for your good? It is beneficial for akhirah and dunya that a man’s akhlaaq (conduct and behavior) gets upright through trials and difficulties. Trials and tribulations make a man good natured and without them arrogance, pharaoh-like nature and devilishness gets inside him. By blessings of trials, one gets humility, submissiveness and he realizes his status when Allah SWT reprimands him with difficulties. Uprightness of akhlaaq grants one more peace. Bad natured person saddens everyone and people see him as a villain. The reality of world gets disclosed by trials and tribulations and a man realizes that the world is not a place to which heart should be attached. This realization is a great knowledge and the world coming before a man with its reality is a great door to knowledge. When this knowledge is not obtained, a man will be immersed in ignorance and ignorance is a massive defect. Let Allah SWT grant us all the right knowledge. 4. Aoudhubillahi minash shaitaan nirrajeem Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Goodness is Only from Allah SWT Do not attribute any goodness to you when you work in Allah’s path. Be grateful to Allah SWT because it is He SWT Who used you in His SWT path by His grace and favor towards you. If not for Him SWT, we would never have any strength to work. If Allah SWT grants you righteousness, obedience and steadfastness, do not compliment yourself but know that it is from the mere grace of Allah SWT. Always attribute the excellence and goodness to Allah SWT whenever you get to work for Allah’s cause and never praise yourself. By doing this you will be granted two things: (1) you will be saved from the morbid vanity and (2) by being grateful to Allah SWT, you will be granted steadfastness. It is the promise of Allah SWT that He SWT will grant you abundance if you are grateful to Him SWT. Sign of Working for Allah’s Pleasure Hazrat Ashraf Ali Thanvi (RA) says that sometimes people appear to be very vexed for sake of deen and work exuberantly for Allah’s cause but all this vigor they show is either for one’s race or nation or for the love of fame. If a person does for purely Allah’s sake, then it would be in accordance with the shariah, commands of Allah SWT and Allah’s pleasure. He will work with Allah’s pleasure in his mind. A person can be very enthusiastic and vigorous in defense and service of Islam but as the purpose for all this is vanity and fame, he will work as per his wish without distinguishing between good and bad or right and wrong. A person does not abide by Islamic laws as his intention is fame. When you are ingrained with good abilities, when deeni work is extracted from you and when you are made steadfast, be grateful to Allah SWT because it is from His SWT pure grace and generosity you have been offered the divine help for all the above if you really seek Allah’s pleasure. By being grateful you will be saved from vanity and granted steadfastness. Look into Your Heart Disclosing one’s righteous deeds as such is not an evil thing and so is hiding any righteous deed not that great. Disclosing one’s righteous deeds is wrong only when you strongly believe that the deed is yours and intent that you get appreciated for it. Revealing the good deed in such a case is very bad. On the other hand, if you ascribe it to the Creator when you reveal your deed, it is not bad but instead it will create a desire, urge and inspiration in others to do that deed. When you do a good deed, if your nafs becomes happy taking its credit, then it is kibr (pride). Alternatively if you think it is from Allah SWT, then it is gratitude. Your heart is your judge and observe how it feels. If you are happy attributing a good deed to your own superiority, it is kibr. If you think it is by grace of Allah SWT, it is gratitude and know that such a deed is accepted by Allah SWT. When a person’s mind is fixed on Allah SWT, his deed will remain insignificant to him. He will be worried the whole time he didn’t fulfill the rights of Allah SWT. A person will think high of himself when his mind is fixed on his self. Good Deed is Already a Reward As much work Allah SWT extracts from us is itself a reward, then why should we yearn for reward for reward? SubhanAllah! When Allah SWT grants you His divine help to carry out righteous deeds and when He SWT mines some deeni work from you in one way or the other, that itself is a reward. When this reward in itself is a great reward, then what other reward you are asking or yearning for? Reward is received for good deeds but here a good deed by itself is a reward. When did it we ever had the ability to any good without Allah’s help? When something disturbing happens to a person, he gets a strange feeling that he is so pious and righteous then why such a thing is happening to him? This means that somewhere he is thinking high of himself for the good deeds he is performing. He thinks himself worthier and that is why he is seeing the tendency of complaint in him. If he thought it is because of the divine help of Allah SWT he is doing a good deed when he is not worthy of any good deed, he won’t have any inclination of complaining. What Are We Complaining For If one believes that the divine help Allah SWT provides is from His grace and is a reward when he is not worthy of it, there won’t be any tendency in him to complaint. Contrarily a person astounds on seeing a calamity befalling him as he thinks it to be not befitting for his high level of piety. He thinks he doesn’t have any evil in him then why does he face such calamities. The fact is if we are to ever search for a salah with concentration from beginning to the end of our prayers performed throughout our lifetime, we won’t even find a single salah. With this poor state, a person thinks himself to be very pious! Say a person is talking to you but he is turning his face away from you, how bad will you feel? Will you ever bother to talk to him again? It is the forbearance and generosity of Allah SWT that He SWT makes you stand before him when your words are for Him SWT in salah but the face of your heart is turned elsewhere. Allah SWT still hears you and this is solely His SWT reward and benevolence. It is merely His SWT grace that He SWT is providing His SWT divine help for good deeds. Accomplished People Never Boast The feeling of pride over one’s accomplishment in itself is a sign that he is devoid of any accomplishment. The accomplished people are never prideful. As these people really attained the accomplishment, they are granted humility and they never boast. If one is truly excellent, he will have in him this quality that he won’t think himself excellent. Contrarily if he is not excellent, he will boast on his excellence. The tree full of fruits remain bowed down while the one with no fruits stands erect. A person with true accomplishment will find in him high humility and modesty. The divine help for righteous deeds is from the grace of Allah SWT. Yearning for prayer and waking up for tahajjud are not your work but it is someone who is waking you up. This will keep going as long as His eyes of generosity is turned towards us. If Allah SWT gets any work from you, see that as His SWT grace because all goodness is solely in His SWT control. So never feel great if you perform any good deed and never look at any sinner with disdain. May Allah SWT grant us all this ability for this is piety. It is not easy to always have our evils before our eyes and to remove the disdain for others from our hearts. We should keep examining our nafs from time to time. Look Down Your Own Self Our Prophet SAW taught this duaa to his ummat, “Allahummajalni fee ayni sagheera wa fi a’yuninnaasi kabeera”. “O Allah! Make me small in my own eyes but great in other people’s eyes”. It is very evil to look at one’s own excellence and feel proud. There are many evils which we are aware of for which we repent but there are many evils and diseases of our heart which we are not aware of and do not repent for. We are not aware of the poisonous and morbid diseases of hearts. We do not consider them as sins and hence we do not take any treatment and repent. These diseases snatch away all the noor of righteous deeds and finish off the spirit of the righteousness. So keep examining yourself in this regard. Worship and do the deeni work but at the same time know that this from the grace of Allah SWT. Ask Allah SWT and Always Be Grateful to Allah SWT Dr.Abdul Hayy (RA) used to say that the biggest mujahida (struggle) of our times is to show gratitude to Allah SWT every single time when we receive the blessings related to this world or deen. Be grateful to Allah SWT every single time that it is because of His SWT grace, benevolence and generosity we received the blessings related to world, health or spiritual wellbeing. One do not know how this very gratitude can uproot numerous spiritual diseases. This gratitude need not be verbal but gratitude is to do with the inner condition. If one is fortunate to get this quality, he can be saved from several spiritual diseases. One won’t have jealousy, arrogance, vanity and so many other diseases when he gets this quality. The gratitude will keep our hearts humble. Dr.Abdul Hayy (RA) also advised to keep asking Allah SWT by talking and speaking to Allah SWT. Who will do long and tedious mujahida these days! If one does just these two acts, he will get the kurb (closeness) of Allah SWT. Every single time keep asking Allah SWT and be grateful to Allah SWT. May Allah SWT grant us all the understanding of deen. Ameen -Morning Tarbiati Majlis- 29.1.2017 https://fahmedeen.org/beta/ https://theheartopener.wordpress.com/2017/03/17/be-humble-and-attribute-the-goodness-only-to-allah-the-great/
  5. Aoudhubillahi minash shaitaan nirrajeem Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Make Intention People are often deprived of blessings of dhikr because they do not intent advancement and blessings from it. For example, Quran says Salah is effective in preventing sins. But we do not intent to pray to save us from sins. Start praying with this intention, you will see the effect. We have decided to pray and also to commit sins. Perform Salah with the intention to save you from sins by its blessings. You will see the effect. Allah SWT is truthful in His words, offering Salah properly will eliminate sins from our lives. Salah and sins cannot exist together just like fire and water. This requires you to pray with this intention. We do not abandon Salah because we know well we will fall into trouble. Our faith is weak and we do not abstain from sins thinking how we can do business, run a family and live in this world without lies. We have anticipated that the sins will save us from problems. We think the problems will erupt if we stop lying. Allah SWT is saying, “Give up sins and you will be saved from all problems”. Glory to Allah SWT. Isn’t Allah SWT the most truthful? Our thinking is contrary to Allah’s saying. Allah SWT is not just saying your problems will be eased but you will be delivered from the problems. Similarly, people are often deprived of blessings of dhikr because they do not intent advancement and blessings from it. Dhikr is done customarily. A pious elder said, “A Muslim does not do a righteous deed with a bad intention but he just does not intent”. You will definitely benefit if you do dhikr or recite Quran intending to acquire its benefits, blessings and radiance. Make ablution contemplating on the Prophet’s SAW words, “Ablution washes away the outer and inner sins”. See how you get the noor (radiance). See the difference against performing ablution, Salah and leaving the masjid heedlessly without contemplating on their benefits and blessings. The love of Allah SWT is not attained from the righteous deeds if His love is not intended. Customarily doing the deeds won’t fetch us Allah’s love. The Prophet SAW said, “The voluntary worship will bring the kurb (closeness) of Allah SWT”. This requires us to first aim for Allah’s closeness. Praying heedlessly without intending for Allah’s kurb won’t get us kurb. This goes with any aspect. Be Consistent in Your Daily Activities Hazrat instructs to complete the daily deeni activities (maamul) in any state irrespective of being in wudhu or while sitting or walking. Abandoning the maamul after establishing it will deprive its blessings. Do the maamul assiduously with your utmost capacity. In accordance to perseverance, awareness of Allah SWT and mindfulness of etiquettes, you will obtain its blessings. If one has an excuse due to illness and he cannot do ablution, do the maamul in any state. Do not discontinue. Hazrat Sirri (RA) was sitting under a tree when he felt a voice is emanating from the tree. Allah SWT guides His SWT slaves in His SWT own way. He heard, “O Sirri! Be like me. People pelt stones at me and in turn I give them fruits”. Hazrat Sirri (RA) said mockingly, “If you are a great saint, why do people throw you in fire?”. It said, “My one weakness wipes away all my good characteristics. I sway in whatever direction the wind blows and I am not stable”. Do the maamul by any means. You may feel lazy, lack in concentration and have no time but somehow do it. Do not leave the maamul and inshaaAllah everything will set right. The Prophet SAW advised us to do acts consistently though small. This is better than doing righteous acts being awake throughout the night. You don’t have to stay awake for 3/4th of night or ½ of the night or even 1/4th of the night. Just pray four units of voluntary Salah during night but for Allah’s sake pray consistently. Sometimes when you feel the sleep is dominant and you find it difficult to wake up, and not much time is left, offer Salah with the intention of praying tahajjud before going to bed. Do not abandon. Let Allah SWT grant us all tawfeeq (divine help) and this is greatly blessed. Ameen. Abandoning the maamul after establishing it will deprive its blessings. Our beloved Prophet SAW said, “O Abdullah! Do not be like the man who used to pray during nights and then left it”. Do not give up a deed after making it habitual. This resembles a man who visits his ruler frequently and after establishing good relationship, he terminates his visit. The ruler will be displeased right? There won’t be any complaints against the one who does not establish any relationship. You established relationship with Allah SWT and left it. Worship Allah SWT in private. This relationship is very essential. Keep the Islahi Talluq Intact Hazrat says, in islaahi talluq (spiritual contact with a Sheikh), even if you do not act on counselling, maintain the contact. He doesn’t prescribe more daily activities lest it becomes difficult but the reformation of aamal is very essential. This contact is blessed and hence keep asking the sheikh. The shaitan severs the contact and created suspicion. The nafs and the mood then leads the saalik. When his faith in sheikh surpasses his suspicions, he will ask everything to the sheikh. So there is blessing in talluq. One disciple wrote to his sheikh that his nafs finds it very difficult to control his eyes requesting to prescribe him something by which he can permanently despise this distressing act. The sheikh replied, there is no solution except taking courage and laboring assiduously. Yes there are two acts that can assist this: 1) concentrating on dhikr of Allah SWT being mindful and (2) pondering over the punishment such as what would be the sin’s reaction, its loss, which blessing it would snatch away and what sort of things I will be deprived of by Allah’s anger. These two acts can assist but one should actually take courage and work. You should exert your nafs. Allah SWT assures the punishment for sin if we do not repent. If not today, we will be punished tomorrow or in old age or sometimes later but the punishment is sure. There are hundred thousands of blessings of Allah SWT descending on us and we never know which blessing we lost or the door of blessings shut because of our sins. Allah decides to exalt us but due to sins He SWT leaves us at lower level. The sinner doesn’t realize this. Contemplation of punishment and loss incurred by sins will give courage by its blessing. A sinner who is habitual of sins gets tangled up by problems and when Allah SWT grants him piety, life pure of sins, his affairs get set right. When Allah SWT says something, there is power behind it and none can stop Him SWT. Increase Your Faith in Allah through Aamaal A saalik questioned about the ways of attaining yaqeen (conviction) in Allah SWT. In reply he was asked to perform aamal (righteous deeds) by blessings of which he will develop yaqeen and is the only way. Yaqeen is created only by amal. When a man receives from Allah SWT and take decisions with Allah’s help by means of aamal he develops yaqeen in Allah SWT. If we want something from Allah SWT, our beloved Prophet SAW asked us to pray haajat-salah. If one’s need is not fulfilled by two units of hajat salah and he continuously prays without giving up finally getting the yaqeen then inshaaAllah his job will be done with just two units of salah. One will get yaqeen only through aamaal. As per Prophet’s SAW saying, “Charity stands in the way of calamity”, a person continuously gives charity until his yaqeen is increased by its blessing. Eventually he will have more yaqeen in giving charity than visiting the doctor and he will get more peace in giving charity like he pays doctor’s fees. Our Prophet SAW said, “Treat the sick with charity”. Who believes this today? Only through aamaal, the yaqeen increases. There is no other way. Generally people do not know the reality of mashwara (consultation). When they find the consultation useful or detrimental, they blame solely the adviser. Consulting with a trustworthy person who is righteous and pious makes the decision easy and the faithful person is pleased with whatever comes from Allah SWT. There will be a definite blessing in the outcome. Let Allah SWT grant us the tawfeeq for amal and the true understanding of the deen. Ameen -Morning Tarbiati Majlis (23.12.2016) https://fahmedeen.org/beta/ https://theheartopener.wordpress.com/2017/03/27/get-close-to-allah-azzawajal/
  6. Aoudhubillahi minashshaitaan nirrajeem Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Sincerity and Courage Fulfilling the rights of Allah SWT related to one’s inner and outer self with sincerity (Ikhlas) and assiduous attitude is what required from us. A pious elder can say this or not but the command is to not break the zaahiri (superficial) and baatini (related to inner self) laws and to get steadfastness in one’s life. This is the real purpose of the life. Whatever the tasawwuf might mean to people but the real purpose of tasawwuf is to achieve ikhlaas and himmat (courage). The whole purpose of tasawwuf is to attain Allah’s pleasure and to gain courage inside us to do all good deeds. My eyes gets opened but I couldn’t perform tahajjud salah, in spite of knowing that it is a sin, I couldn’t control my gaze , I know it is wrong to say but I don’t have control over the tongue and so on and on. All these acts lack courage. The main goal of tasawwuf, tarbiat (upbringing), talluq (contact) with a spiritual guide and islaah (reformation) is to achieve courage and ikhlas. The main purpose is to attain Allah’s pleasure in every single deed introspecting why I am doing this and to develop courage to do any good deed. . If one aims to get a great talluq and high level of piety that even the thought of sin won’t cross his mind, then this will not happen. The sinful thought will come but if one gets the courage to not act on it, then Alhamdulillah he achieved his goal. If you are expecting to not even get the thought of riyaa (ostentation), this will never happen. But yes if we introspect why I am doing this with such a vigor and the answer to this is to please only Allah SWT, then that’s an achievement. The accomplishment of islaah is to attain Allah’s pleasure in every single deed and to gain courage to save from all the sins and to do good deeds. Nowadays people do not take courage but they want to attain high spirituality with things happening spontaneously and get hatred towards sins miraculously. One disciple wrote a letter to Hazrat Ashraf Ali Thanvi (RA) requesting him to do something so the noor from his heart gets transmitted to his heart. He replied back that there is only phlegm in his chest. The main purpose is to gain the courage. Aforetime it was difficult to get the salah with first takbir due to laziness and now he gets the first takbir, aforetime he couldn’t perform nafil salah and now he is able to do, aforetime he was not able to control his gaze but now he could guard his gaze. This is courage. Whisperings, evil thoughts and attacks will keep coming but to save one self assiduously with courage is the true accomplishment. Know that Our Entire Life is a Battle against Nafs and Shaitaan Our entire life is a battle against evil self (nafs) and shaitaan. There was a very pious elder who kept saying on his death bed, “No, no, no”. Someone asked him what he is uttering in such a critical time! He replied that shaitaan is coming again and again to him and telling him that he has succeeded and he is saying no to him and not yet. It is said about Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) that once a very bright light appeared before him which emanated a voice, “O Abdul Qadir Jeelani, you have achieved such a lofty status that you don’t have to offer salah anymore.” Hearing this he immediately sought refuge in Allah SWT from shaitaan as he instantly recognized that to be of shaitaan. The light then turned into darkness and told him that he was saved because of his ilm (knowledge). He again recognized that he is being attacked by the second weapon to mislead him and he replied no and it is not because of his ilm but he was saved by the grace of Allah SWT. The shaitaan keeps setting the trap one after the other. If one escapes from one trap, he will set the other trap. O the honorable ones! One’s real purpose is to get ikhlaas in every single deed by self-examining why he is doing that deed. A great buzurg (pious elder) belonging to Tabligh Jamaat by name Mufti Zainul Abideen used to say that one gets all the righteous deeds that are superficial and also the qualities of eemaan except ikhlaas which is achieved only lastly. This is the accomplishment of islaah. Now tell me is there anything bad in it? If you achieve this in talluq (spiritual contact) or bayat (pledge with a spiritual sheikh for islah) or islaah, there is nothing wrong. Today we can see people in holy sites with big beards, trimmed moustaches and turban emulating a spiritual aura but in the name of tasawwuf, there is too much of innovation associated with it. These innovations changed the color of tasawwuf when the real purpose of it is to gain courage and strength by the person which sets him on righteousness and he aims for Allah’s pleasure in all his deeds. An Important Advice for This Life In one meeting with Hazrat Ashraf Thanvi Raheemahullah, a pious person asked him for a brief advice. In reply, he reminded him of a hadith wherein our beloved Prophet SAW said, “If you live until the morning do not wait for the evening and if you live until the evening do not wait for the morning and count you among the dead.” This is the advice for this life. This is the advice of hakeem-ul-ummat of our times who was granted the radiation of apperception by Allah SWT. Count you among the dead and don’t get excited by peoples praises or get disturbed by their criticism as these won’t affect a dead man. Someone said, “Worry about akhirah as we cannot predict the time of death. I am afflicted with the heart disease and whenever I feel the severity of pain, I think I am close to death. Allah SWT then lightens the pain and this goes on for five years during which many youngsters of sound health and strength passed away. Do not forget Allah SWT and do not forget the reality of our state”. Today we have forgotten both these things, our reality and Allah SWT. We forgot how weak, helpless and dependent we are. A pious elder said that everyone works, some for dunya (world) and some for deen. Irrespective of the nature of the work be it worldly or official or related to any job, the main thing is if one does it considering it to be his duty, then he is a waliullah (a close friend of Allah SWT). Depending on the sincerity in one’s work, accordingly it will have the weightage. A person is doing even the worldly work well because he fears that Allah SWT is watching him and thus he accomplishes his duty. This has more weightage. A person is doing the acts of nawaafil (voluntary) but if he doesn’t have sincerity in his worship, it is of no use. Contrarily, if a person carries out his clerkish task or dispenses his duty he is responsible for keeping Allah SWT in his mind that He SWT is watching him, it becomes ibaadat (worship). Remember that any act can become an act of worship People give importance to ikhlaas and riyaa when it comes to nawaafil acts of worship but when it comes to doing other duties such as official job or some other responsible job or writing fatwas, people don’t see the performers as waliullah. A person might be awake until 1 am to write the fatwa going through voluminous books but the person for whom the fatwa is being written may not know this and even if one wakes up in the night and see the person writing the fatwa, he won’t see him as a wali. The point is whatever the task be, its weightage depends on the sincerity. Irrespective of people’s understanding, they see me as pious or not, I should do my job purely for Allah’s sake. This can be writing down fatwas or reading books or teaching books. Normally for such acts none will call one a wali. If a person stands for nafil prayer for two hours, the people will wonder at him saying what a buzurg (a very pious person)! If the same person teaches a book for two hours, people will say he is just teaching while the fact is if he is teaching with ikhlaas, then this act of teaching will become an ibaadat (worship) surpassing the performance of nafil salah irrespective of people’s understanding. The poor people also see only such aspects when the real thing is one gets himmat and ikhlaas in every single act such as when he is talking with someone, he should contemplate why he is talking, if he is explaining to someone, he should contemplate why he is explaining and if he is discussing some issues with someone, he should contemplate why he is doing. He should do only for Allah SWT. Let Us Live Only for Allah SWT Let Allah SWT grant us all ikhlaas, which is very precious. This is why our beloved Prophet SAW said, “If any of you spent gold equal to Uhud (in Allah’s cause), it would not be equal to a seed of a date spent by one of my companions RA”. This is in pursuit of their ikhlaas. This is the real achievement of islaah that our inner zealousness changes and our life starts passing away for Allah’s sake. If we are talk to someone, meet someone, smile at someone and even distance from someone, it should be for Allah ﷻ. The loss, gain and desire everything should be for Allah SWT, our lives should go around this and every matter sake of Allah SWT. Live for Allah SWT, love for Allah SWT, have friendship for Allah SWT and let our entire life be for Allah SWT. Let this zeal develop in us and along with this, let one get himmat. The reason for prescribing zikr, recitation of Quran, keeping righteous companionship is to gain strength so taking courage becomes easy because of the blessings of these acts. The mere performance of all these acts is not the real purpose but to fulfil the rights of Allah apparently and hiddenly. Then there are other proscriptions to talk too much and to meet useless people. When following all this is not the real purpose but to make them the means to reach the real goal so the spiritual diseases get cured. These acts are not farz or wajib but are for the spiritual treatment. Sometimes a doctor proscribes banana. Is banana haram? No, but is proscribed so his stomach gets well so he can digest it later. So the real purpose is to have Allah’s SWT pleasure in the mind all the time and to do righteous deeds and save oneself from sins by taking courage. How to gain the courage? O the honorable ones! The truth is the sins have increased prodigiously in our lives that we don’t even realize a sin. This is like if I live in a stinky place, I won’t even sense the stink but when a nonresident comes to that place, he gets astonished how one can live in such a stinky place. But the resident do not feel same. And how would he feel as he has become very much acquainted with the foul odor. Today we have become so familiar with the sins in our society that we don’t even realize the sins. Or else a person coming from a fragrant place will suffocate as soon he steps in a stinky place becoming uneasy and worrisome. Take courage so neither the zahir nor baatin’s command gets broken. Let Allah ﷻ grant us all tawfeeq and for this some aamaal are prescribed. Give importance for tasbeehaat (paternoster) and now what if one doesn’t get courage to do even the tasbeehaat and to recite Quran? Listen, when one wants to eat food, he needs to make a little effort to bring the morsel of food from his plate to his mouth as it won’t fly and come. These maamulaat (daily activities of worship) are something very common and easy ones. When one gets himmat to do these simple acts, then we can develop enough strength within us to abandon that sin which our nafs is finding it very difficult. With persistent attitude and taking some courage do the acts of nawaafil, recite the Quran, have association with pious people and do the tasbeehaat in the mornings and evenings. Alongside, give importance to the duaa begging “O Allah! I am very weak. I don’t have any courage inside me. I intent, I desire but I fail. I go for two days and then give up. I advance a little with few steps but I fall back. Ya Allah! You please help me.” So beg before Allah SWT and ask Allah SWT. If one does maamulat, have righteous association and make duaa, then he will get himmat and ikhlaas which are the accomplishments of this life. This is the real goal of our life to have only Allah SWT in one’s mind when he talks to his family, his children, his friends or is working anywhere. All these acts are worship and these are embellishing our akhirat. People may see this as buzurgi (piety) or not but these are all buzurgi. Let Allah SWT grant us all tawfeeq and make it easy. 7. Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Reforming the inner is indeed difficult The pious elders didn’t pay much attention to the outwardly deeds as their reformation can be done in a minute with a mere change of intention. A be-namaazi (one who does not pray) can start praying in a minute, a beardless man can start growing the beard in a minute, a drunkard can give up drinking in a minute. A faasiq and a faajir can become pious in a minute. It was the akhlaaq of one’s inner-self such as getting rid of kibr (pride) etc. to which they paid more attention for certainly it is a very difficult task. The reformation of inner-self from spiritual diseases such as hub-e-jah (love for name and fame), kibr, jealousy, high thinking of oneself, rancor, the desire for praise etc. is very difficult. When a be-namaazi gets a righteous environment will start to pray tahajjud salah even in masjid-un-Nabawi but it is not guaranteed that one’s kibr leaves his heart this easily. A man gets the environment of Makka mukarrama and he will reach the masjid even before the prayer commences but this does not mean he will get rid of jealousy and rancor in his heart in a same manner. It is not easy to end the quest for fame and worldly things. So one can change his outer appearance quickly but the spiritual diseases goes away with time as a person keeps going on the spiritual path. In fact the weight of a person’s outer deeds solely depends on his inner self. The more his heart is clean, heavier will be his outer deeds and there will be more noor. A man is fortunate to get rid of his spiritual diseases. A person might be establishing tahajjud salah but have rancor in his heart and have love for the world. The love for world does not necessarily mean the love for wealth but it also comprises the love for honor, fame and praises. There is a widespread disease in our society today and that is to praise the person on his face. This is like slaughtering him with a sharp knife. A person can be worthless but on continuously hearing praises he thinks high of himself. In order to get the job done, some praise others with big words making him to feel great of himself. Such an environment is expanding now. This is a disease where a person yearns for praises and he starts getting people surrounding him with praises. As far as the one who speaks the truth talking about his islaah, he won’t be in his company. Only those who falsely praise him sit with him. Our elders thus considered very easy to change the outer appearance of a person by surrounding him with a good environment that changes a be-namaazi to namaazi (the one who prays), a beardless man to a bearded man and a drunkard man into a non-alcoholic. How many come running towards masjid during the blessed environment of Ramadhan! But attaching a person’s heart to akhirah and to de-bond his heart with this dunya is very difficult. To get the zuhd of dunya and quest for akhirah takes time and with much difficulty one gets rid of spiritual diseases. Because of these inner diseases, the noor of the outer aamaal do not shine on the heart. Let Allah SWT protect us. Hubb e jhaa is said to be such a disease whose very presence is known with much difficulty. Only when you hear something related to it, you realize that you are afflicted with that disease. To know our quest for honor and fame is not so easy. Be strict on your nafs It has been said that to lower one’s gaze is difficult and if one violates this rule, he should pray 50 units of voluntary salah. Only if one is strict on his nafs and imposes severe penalty on it, it will reform. It is very important to protect one’s gaze. The following are the signs of one’s acceptance by Allah Azzawajal are: he holds correct religious beliefs, he is steadfast in doing aamaal, he keeps away from sins and he hates the world. Once a man came to the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam and asked him sallallaahu alaihi wasallam to show him such an amal by which he becomes beloved to Allah Azzawajal and also to the people. Our beloved Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam replied, “Do not love this world, you will become beloved to Allah Azzawajal and do not yearn for what people have or throw desirous look on their possessions, you will become beloved of people”. The sign of hard heartedness and rusted heart is no hatred for sins and no attachment to Allah’s obedience. Let Allah Azzawajal protect us. The hatred for sins is very essential because only then he can save himself from committing sins. A very effective way of saving oneself from such a state is to keep oneself away from the sinful environment. A man may not commit sins but if he keeps sitting in the sinful environment, he will reach a state when he will not hate the sins. This is like a person who lives in cow’s shed. After a time, he won’t sense the foul smell of cow dung. In fact when he is out of shed, he falls unconscious. When people tried to bring in him consciousness with different things, he didn’t gain any consciousness and when a man brought cow dung near his nose, he immediately woke up. Similarly when a person becomes accustomed to a sinful environment, not just he loses hatred for sins but he enjoys sinning. Let Allah Azzawajal protect us. When a person is in a righteous environment, Allah Azzawajal grants him the wealth of righteousness. How many of us are here who didn’t even know that we have such and such spiritual disease until Allah Azzawajal sent a man of clean heart to us and then we start feeling uneasiness of our sinful environment! People say we don’t have good intention and good perception but actually we have become just like how our environment was. So not having any hatred towards sins and desire to do obedient acts are a sign of hard heartedness. As I said before an effective way of coming out of it is to create a righteous environment around us and in case we are to go to the sinful environment to meet our needs, then try to move out of the place as fast as you could. If not it would become very difficult to sense the sins as he will start considering it to be something very normal by seeing that continuously around him. Prefer health to voluntary acts It has been said that one’s health should be prioritized over recommended or voluntary acts. For example, after fajr salah sitting in the masjid waiting for ishraaq salah is a voluntary act and accordingly you get reward. But if one’s health demands that he goes for a walk daily and he doesn’t get time for that except at this particular time, then going for walk in a corrupt free environment is better for him than doing the voluntary act. You can go to house and pray ishraaq. On one hand if you have voluntary acts and on the other hand your health, then take more care of your health. Preserving one’s health is better than recommended acts and going towards woods for a walk is better than sitting in masjid waiting for ishraaq with devotion. One can postpone the ishraaq and can even pray in house. We should give importance for health as we are weak people. You would have noticed that when you are healthy, you find pleasure in reading Quran and other voluntary acts, and one gets strength to do many righteous deeds. If one gets affected by health, he won’t even be able to do what he is doing already. If one has headache, hip pain etc. what can he do? Let health be taken care of. SubhanAllah! Our deen is very moderate but if you start understanding the deen in your own way, then it would look difficult. Pay attention to only Allah’s pleasure It has been said that the student of haqq is not bothered about others hostility as his main concern is Allah’s pleasure. One should not create enmity intentionally but if it happens while preaching the truth, then Allah Azzawajal is there for help. One should concentrate only on Allah’s pleasure. Most of the times it so happens that people’s displeasure saves one from many calamities. The friends might be displeased with you for becoming pious but the deen saves you from many calamities. So when I am indulged in pleasing Allah Azzawajal, then why should I care about the creatures’ displeasure? What can be more dangerous than the sin? And what can be more dangerous than the sinful environment? So if someone becomes angry while pleasing Allah Azzawajal, you should not worry. Who knows from how many sins you were saved! And from how many calamities you were saved! So you should not worry about it. We should only think that our Allah Azzawajal do not become displeased with us. To summarize, three points have been emphasized. (1) To reform one’s outer appearance is easier than reforming the inner self from pride, jealousy etc. and in fact one gets divine help to perform more outer deeds when his heart gets purified. (2) The sign of hardheartedness is not feeling hatred towards the sins and affinity towards righteous deeds and (3) The student of Allah Azzawajal or the student of truth should care only about Allah’s pleasure and not the creatures’ pleasure. Let Allah Azzawajal help us all to act on what we hear, write and read. 8. Bismillah jazaakumallahu khaira for sharing the links but i am particularly looking for ulema in tamilnadu. When i search in google i couldnt find if a particular alim belongs to deoband school of thought. When i call the islamic book stores, they name some author of the books but it is a pity i couldn't find if they are deobandi or not and that puts me off in buying any books when many elderly people here could read only Tamil. This is a very poor state of tamilnadu muslims in updating such info online. Sorry for the rant.
  9. Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Here is the list I found: http://anonahouse.blogspot.in/p/links.html
  10. Bismillahi Yeap that would be a good idea inshaaAllah
  11. Bismillah It would have been nice if the font chosen was normal rather than the stylish ones that makes reading difficult. This is my humble request.
  12. Bismillahirrahmanirraheem Assalamu alaikum ww It would be nice if someone can list the Ulema linked to Darul uloom deoband or their teachings in Tamilnadu and also their works.

  14. Bismillah Are some of the ahaadeeth authentic such as The beloved Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam commanded: “Whenever you buy anything from the market place first present it to your female children then to your male children.” “When a girl is born to a family, then between the parents and Hell, there shall be a distance of five hundred years.” It has been stated that: When parents rejoice at the birth of a daughter, this is greater than making Tawaaf of the Kaaba seventy times
