Funny how when christians/hindus/jews etc. do the most heinous crimes on the planet, we rarely ever see their religion being targeted, but when muslims do anything - the first thing thats brought to the attention of 1 and all is: THEY'RE MUSLIMSSSS!!!!! Its totally sick....
  2. Question: What is the proof of taqleed shaksi i.e. that you have to follow ONLY one scholar/imam. There are verses and ahaadith from which taqleed in general can be proven, but I need some evidences that prove that you can't follow more than one person. You may say that doing so will mean following your desires, but what if one is following an opinion of a mujtahid on a perticular issue because his ruling is easier to follow. Why is that not allowed. Doesn't it come about the Prophet (S.A.W.) that whenever he would have to choose between two different things he would choose the easier one? This is an argument that Sh. Zuhaili uses in his Al-Fiqhul Islaami page 94. He says one that page ,"And the majority of scholars say that it is not compulsory to follow one particular Imam on every mas'ala, rather it is allowed for him to follow any Mujtahid he wants... Because there is nothing wajib except what Allah makes and his messenger make wajib and Allah and his messenger did not make it wajib to follow one particular Madhab. He only made wajib to follow scholars without specifying just one. Also the people who asked about rulings did not stick to one person or madhab, instead they used to ask anyone who is available.... This opinion is the preferred one according to the scholars of Usool. Answer: You have correctly indicated in your query that had taqlid not been constricted to only one school of thought, the general masses would conveniently practice on only the easiest rulings of each school. At times, this would lead them to abandon all four schools concurrently on one act. This would inevitably lead to contradictions and errors and will ultimately lead to introducing a new school which is based on carnal desires and opposes the practices of our pious predecessors. A famous example given is, that suppose a person performs wudu, and thereafter gets cut on his finger which causes him to bleed. According to the Hanafi ‘Ulama,, his wudu is broken, whereas according to the Shafi’ ‘Ulama his wudu is still intact. In order to avoid making wudu, he takes the Shafi’ view on this matter. This man then touches his wife with desire; according to the Shafi’ opinion his wudu is broken, whereas according to the Hanafi school of thought his wudu is still perfect. Seeing that the Hanafi view is easier on this issue, he chooses to follow that school of thought. He thereafter consumes camel meat which nullifies his wudu according to the HanbaliSchool. He finds that there is more ease in following the view of those who say that camel meat does not invalidate one’s wudu and therefore chooses to follow their view. Thereafter, he stands up to perform prayers. It is clear that according to the vast majority of Scholars his prayer will not be valid. His worship will be based more on human ego rather than Qur’an and Hadith and his entire deen will be unsystematic.   7. Mufti AK's fatwa on the ''Yoga Craze''.... With the escalating demands of today’s busy lifestyles, society has seen a rise in the amount of people practicing the ancient art of Yoga as a means towards the improvement of health and alleviation of stress. Advocates say yoga enhances the body’s strength and flexibility, offers a workout for internal body organs and revitalizes the senses. In the words of one practitioner, “Yoga is more than just an exercise or a workout. It’s part of a holistic plan that promotes overall wellness. Yoga has given me a different perspective in which to view the world. I simply like the way it makes me feel on and off the mat!” With increasing numbers of Muslims now also showing a keen interest in the discipline, many are eager to establish the Islamic ruling on yoga, and the permissibility of its incorporation into a daily health and fitness routine. Commenting on the phenomenon, Cii Radio in-house Mufti, Abdool Kader(AK) Hoosen said it was necessary to first trace the ancient origins of the practice to determine its lawfulness. Drawn from a Sanskrit word which means ‘union’ or ‘to join’, yoga is commonly used to refer to a kind of spiritual exercise that is practiced for the purpose of union with the universal spirit. It forms part of the six āstika or “orthodox” schools of Hindu philosophy. Hindu Theology presents yoga as a devotion capable of uniting the human being with the Divine in the form of the deities of Vishnu or Shiva. Various traditions of yoga are also found in Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. Its spread in the West can be largely attributed to the efforts of Hindu monks,who began promoting the art in the late 19th century. Regardless of the reasons an individual may present for practicing on Yoga, Mufti AK says the pagan origins of the discipline will leave it forever tainted. “Anything to do with the devotions of another faith is not acceptable in Islam. This is a recurrent theme in the Quran: “O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.” (Surah Maaidah: 51) This is not confined to the People of the Book, as Allah Ta’alah says elsewhere: And those who disbelieved are allies of one another.(Surah Anfal:73) Yoga is a proven Hindu practice, and as such for a Muslim to advocate and promote this is totally impermissible. All income gained from promoting Yoga is also Haraam.” He says the concept of Muslims dissociating themselves from the devotions of other faiths is also established from many authentic Ahadeeth. “Ibn Mas’ood, may Allaah be pleased with him, and others narrated that a man came to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and said: “O Messenger of Allaah! What do you say about a man who loved some people yet did not do what it takes in order for him to be with them (in the hereafter)” The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam replied: “One will be with whom he loves” (Bukhaari, Muslim and others).
