Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:

“None of you should say: ‘O Allah forgive me if You wish. O Allah have mercy on me if You wish.’ Let him be firm in asking, for there is none that can compel Him to do things.”

This hadith reveals that if a believer asks for anything   to Allah, then he should not hesitate and should be confuse, but he should ask by open heart what is permissible in the shariah and he should not be doubtful about it.

Because Allah can do everything whatever He wants as the holy Quran reveals,

“verily, God has the power to do  anything.”  (Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:20)

And…” God always prevails in whatever be His purpose: but most people know it not.”

Yusuf (Joseph) 12:21

May Allah give us power to do so, Amin.
