Every day the sun rises it calls upon us, O people! I am a new day; I am an observer of your actions. Take advantage of me for I will not return until the Day of Judgment. O son of Adam, you are nothing but a few breaths. Once one breath goes out, part of you goes with it. In the same way that part of you has gone, soon all of you will go."

[Hasan Al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him)]

Be with those who fear Allah, for then,

♥ they will fear to hurt you,

♥ they will fear to break your promise,

♥ they will fear to con you,

♥ they will fear to lie to you,

♥ they will fear Allah on their every action.

Thus… be with those who fear Allah…

    There is rest only in the aakhira.

A simple way to prepare for Ramadan:

Be Happy. Be Excited.
Rejoicing for the coming of this month, rejoicing at Allah’s mercies is the simplest way to prepare. Let the coming of this month be known to everyone around you. Let the environment change in your homes.

Ya Allah, I beg you to help us reach this month, ya Allah there is no other time other than this month where the hearts are completely at synch, completely at peace. Ya Allah help us reach this month, help us attain forgiveness in this month, & make the most of it. Let this Ramadan be the Ramadan where we transform completely. Inshaa’Allah.

Arrogance is despised by Allah because no one has the right to feel superior to another when all are equally dependent on Him for everything.

And the worst type of arrogance is to reject the truth knowing it to be true - that was the arrogance of Iblis himself.

"Beware of every hour and how it passes, and only spend it in the best possible way, do not neglect yourself, but render it accustomed to the noblest and best of actions, and send to your grave that which will please you when you arrive to it."

“Ramadaan has come to you - a blessed month. Allah has made obligatory upon you its fasting. In it, the gates of heaven are open, the gates of the Hellfire are closed and the evil devils are chained. To Allah belongs a night in it, which is better than a thousand months. Whosoever is prevented from its good, then he has been deprived.”

It is narrated that the Holy Prophet (saws) said that one who says the following supplication after each obligatory prayer during the month of Ramadhan will have all his sins forgiven up to the day of Resurrection:

In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

O Allah, gladden the people of the graves,

O Allah, enrich every poor person,

O Allah, satisfy every hungry one,

O Allah, clothe every unclothed one,

O Allah, help every debtor pay his debts,

O Allah, relieve every distressed one,

O Allah, return every traveler (to his home),

O Allah release every prisoner,

O Allah, correct every wrong in the affairs of the Muslims,

O Allah, cure every sick one,

O Allah, ease our poverty by Your wealth,

O Allah, change our evil state to a good one through Your excellent state,

O Allah, relieve us of our debts, and help us against poverty, Surely You have power over all things.

“The Heart, in its journey to Allah (swt) is like that of a bird:

Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings.

When the head and two wings are sound the bird flies gracefully;

if the head is severed, the bird dies;

if the bird loses one of its wings,

it then becomes a target for every hunter or predator.”* -

Ibn Al-Quayyim
