Asalamu'alaikum

“All humans are dead, except those who have knowledge.

And all those who have knowledge are asleep, except those who do good deeds.

And those who do good deeds are deceived, except those who are sincere.

And those who are sincere are always in a state of worry.”

~Imam Shaafi`i

Asalamu'alaikum

Allah has created the angels from intellect but He did not place lust in them,

He created animals with lust but did not place intellect in them, but He placed both intellect & lust in humans,

therefore he whose intellect overcomes his lust is greater than the angels & he whose lust overcomes his intellect is lower than animals.

Ali Ibn Abi Thalib (R.A)

Asalamu'alaikum

Think about all the awesome blessings that have been bestowed upon us by Allah. The blessing of eye-sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell, the tiny little muscles that allow us to breathe, the neurons that allow us to think, are we grateful for these everyday blessings! Or do we use these blessings to disobey Allah instead?

"Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. And indeed, he is to that a witness." [100:6-7]

Asalamu'alaikum

Salah is beautiful; it not only allows us to take time from our day to reflect and connect with Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, but is a means of purification for both the body and soul.

To add more, studies have found that prayer (salah specifically) is found to lower blood pressure, heart rate, and calm the mind and body.

Revolve your daily routine around the salah times, and always ensure that it is done at a steady pace with khushu’

Asalamu'alaikum

“When you stand to pray, pray as if it is your last prayer, don’t speak with that which you would apologize for tomorrow, and be hopeless for that which is in the hands of the people.”

[imaam Ahmad, Authenticated by Al-Albaanee]

Asalamu'alaikum

“O son of Adam! If you mention Me to yourself, I will mention you to Myself.

If you mention Me in a gathering, I will mention you in a gathering of the angels (or said in a better gathering).

If you draw closer to Me by a hand span, I will draw closer to you by forearm’s length.

If you draw closer to Me by a forearm’s length, I will draw closer to you by an arm’s length.

And if you come to Me walking, I will come to you running).”

[Recorded in Sahih Al-Bukhari]

Asalamu'alaikum

Ibn al-Qayyim rahimahullah said: “When a person spends his entire day with no other concern but Allaah alone, Allaah, may He be glorified, will take care of all his needs and take care of all that is worrying him;

He will empty his heart so that it will be filled only with love for Him,

free his tongue so that it will speak only in remembrance of Him (dhikr) and cause all his faculties to work only in obedience to Him...."

[Al-Fawaa’id, p. 159]
