This is a dictionary of Islamic terms by Dr. Muhammad Ali Alkhuli.  The author said in his introduction:

“I felt the need for a dictionary of Islamic terms while I was writing some English books on Islam to introduce the Islamic religion to non-Muslims.  I also found that many Arab writers of such English books have the same feeling about the need for such a dictionary because Islamic terms are available in Arabic, to begin with. Therefore, I developed the intention to compile a bilingual Arabic-English dictionary and an English-Arabic dictionary on Islamic terms. The result of this intention has been this dictionary.

This dictionary contains the terms related to the Holy Quran, the Sunna, worship, transactions, manners, penal laws, the permitted, the prohibited, marriage, divorce, waiting period, inheritance, jurisprude-nce, pillars of Islam, God’s names, Prophet’s names, names of the Quranic chapters, many terms that may come under the umbrella of ‘Islamic terms’, and terms needed in comparative religious studies.”

There are five branches of faith in Islām:

The fifth branch has a direct bearing on how non-Muslims perceive Muslims and is therefore of great importance in our society. The basic principle of this branch of faith is derived from the saying of the Prophet sallallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam:

This is a recent translation of an Urdu book on the principles of Tabligh by a remarkable scholar of our time. Shaykh (Maulana) Saeed Ahmed Khan (RA) stayed in Madina for decades teaching Hadeeth and involved with the work of Tableegh. This is a synthesis of his knowledge, experience and foresight being actively involved with the work of Tableegh since his youth until his last days.

It should be read with the utmost concentration and repeatedly to try to harness the knowledge, experience and foresight of the work of Tabligh. Shaykh (Maulana) Saeed Ahmed Palunpuri (HA) of Darul-uloom Deoband in his recent Interview to our site outlined how he believes knowledge should be gained.

Sheikh Ahmed Hoosen Deedat was Born on the 01 July 1918 in the Surat district of India in 1918. His father emigrated to South Africa in 1927 with him. After reading a book called Izharul Haq – The Truth revealed, a book about a debate with Christian Missionaries in the then British India, Sheikh Deedat was spurred on in the direction of Dawah – Islamic Missionary Activity to halt the tide of the then Christian onslaught against Islam. Over the next four decades, he immersed himself into a host of activities. Conducting Bible classes, lectures and debates the world over. He established the first Islamic Seminary in Southern Africa to train propagators at Assalaam educational Institute - Braemar. He is the founder of the largest Islamic Dawah Organization in the world, the Islamic Propagation Center International and became its president. He delivered thousands of lectures all over the world, crossing all the continents and successfully engaging some of the biggest names in Christian evangelists in public debates. Sheikh Deedat’s debates and lectures are available all over the world in the various languages in Video and DVD format. His career in the field of Comparative Religion took him across all five continents and dialogue with the heads of the Protestant world in America. May Almighty Allah bless his soul, accept his efforts for the cause of da’wah and grant gracious patience to his loved ones during this trying time.
