Quotable Quotes - Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat

Any good that exists in the heart will make its effect apparent,

just as a bottle of musk emits its fragrance.

Nobody is really free: either you are a slave of Allāh subhaanahu wata'ala or of your nafs.

Dīn is not about doing things to please yourself;

Dīn is about pleasing Allāh subhaanahu wata'ala

Detaching yourself from the love of the world

will attach you to the love of Allāh subhaanahu wata'ala

Allāh subhaanahu wata'ala  puts humans through trials to wake them up from their slumber,

so that they may mend their ways.

Hate the sickness in a person, not the sick person himself;

hate the bad qualities in a person not the person himself.

Evil always has a far greater effect than good,

just as a single drop of impurity spoils a whole container of clean water.

To work hard in acquiring knowledge is in your control, but to preserve that knowledge is not.

Allāh Subhaanahu wata'ala looks at how hard you try and rewards you accordingly.

When reading books or listening to lectures,

make sure they are works of authentic, reliable and pious scholars,

for reading people’s material or listening to their lectures is like sitting in their company.

We are slaves of Allah subhaanhu wata’ala and if He says perform salaat on time in Leicester,

we obey

and if He says delay Maghrib salaat on the day of Arafat till Isha time,

we obey.

If He says do not worship or revere a stone,

we obey,

and if He says circumambulate the brick building (the Ka’bah) and kiss the Hajare Aswad (Black Stone),

we obey

because our maqsad (objective) is not the stone, our maqsad is the Creator of the stone

we obey!

“We do not try to attract the mercy and help of Allah subhanahu wata‘alaa in our du’as in the way we should. We discuss the state of the ummah and its problems and politics for hours on end, yet we cannot take out five minutes to beseech Allah subhaanahu wata‘alaa – the One who is fully able to solve our problems and improve our condition.”

The True Effect of Dhikr

“Some people, when they start to carry out the prescribed practices, dhikr etc. expect to undergo extraordinary feelings and to enjoy certain spiritual highs. This is all a misconception.

The true effect of dhikr is that inclination towards the World lessens and inclination towards the Hereafter increases.”

"A person is mindful of every penny despite being wealthy.

If he drops a ten-pence coin he will search for it and retrieve it.

Yet the person is completely unmindful of the valuable asset of time.

He will spend hours, days, weeks, months and even years in Laghw!"

*Laghw is those actions  which even though they are not sinful,

they are non beneficial in this world and in the hereafter and therefore a waste of time

Objective of Life

"We are aware that our objective in life is the worship of Allah subhaanahu wata'ala. However, we are ignorant of the true meaning and essence of worship. True worship is to abstain from disobedience to Allah subhaanahu wata'ala."

Our hearts are the same hearts which were given to Junaid Baghdadi and Abdul Qadir Jilani because Allah is just.

They made effort at purification and became Shaykh Junaid Baghdadi and Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.

We have in our minds that we do not have the capabilities and therefore we do even make the effort.

Utilising means other than the dhikr of Allāh ta'ālā to acquire peace of heart is akin to brushing your difficulties under the carpet.

The unease, despite being masked, is still there.

It is just like being under anaesthetic; as soon as you ‘wake up’ you will realise that the pain has not gone away.

Thermometer of Ikhlās

A thermometer of ikhlās (sincerity) for those engaged in the service of Dīn: if you learn of someone else also doing or progressing in the service of Dīn, and this news makes you happy, you have ikhlās, otherwise not.

Muhammad Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam  - The Best
Shaykh Mawlānā Muhammad Saleem Dhorat hafizahullāh

The Greatest Favour
After the gift of Imaan, Allah Taala has not conferred upon us a favour greater than including us in the ummah of
the greatest Nabi, Muhammad Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam

Clear Sign
A sign that our religion is complete and comprehensive is that there is not a single aspect of human life that our beloved Nabi Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam did not address in his twenty-three years of Prophethood.

Special Ṣadaqah
Everything related to Deen that has reached us, including every noble quality and trait, is a sadaqah of our beloved Nabi Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam. Without this gift, our lives would not be much different to those of animals. It is therefore necessary to send Salat & Salam upon our beloved Nabi Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam in abundance.

Sincerity in Salat & Salam
We should convey  Salat & Salam upon our beloved Nabi Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam with great reverence and love, with the thought that although we have not sent forth much by way of good deeds for the hereafter, maybe this deed will secure our salvation.

Rights Restored
Rasoolallah Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam restored the rights of every sector of humanity, especially the weak.

Sirah is Sufficient
When talking to non-Muslims about Islam there is no need to go into detailed matters of fiqh;
the exemplary Sirah of Rasoolallah Sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam is sufficient.

When an action or words cause hurt to a parent, teacher, shaykh etc.

ask  for forgiveness.

They will forgive. Forgiveness is in their control.

Make them happy. To make them happy is in our control.

Allāh ta‘ālā has made certain things obligatory.

He first gave humans the ability to carry them out, and then ordered them to do them.

lf it wasn't possible to do them, he would not have made them obligatory.
